Top 5 Digital Marketing Trends to Look Out For in 2022

Jun 24, 2022 | Advertising, Marketing, Posts, PPC

While there are some tried and true marketing techniques that have been used for centuries, digital marketing seems to change from year to year. Technology has helped develop new, more effective ways to market products and services. The ultimate goal is always a better return for a lower investment—which is exactly what these top trends for 2022 focus on!

  1. Ad Personalization Using Artificial Intelligence

Personalizing ads has taken digital marketing by storm, and with good reason. Customers want products that work for their unique needs, and personalized advertising can provide suggestions on products and services right where a customer is looking—whether that is on social media or while browsing other websites.

AI can do amazing things when it comes to personalized ads. It can create personalized emails and messages as well as incorporate images and messages that appeal to a customer’s personalities, values, and desires.

  1. Live Videos and Streams

In large part because of COVID-19, live streaming has seen a significant uptick in usage over the past couple of years. While pre-recorded videos can still be effective, live streaming allows consumers to connect with products and services in a way that was not possible before. Livestreams allow for instant question and answer sessions and product demonstrations, and the consumer doesn’t even have to leave their couch.

  1. Video Shorts, and Bite-Sized Content

Consumers like it when they can consume information with very little effort. Short videos that are easy to understand and visually appealing are very popular right now. Videos that only last 10 or 15 seconds seem to hold Gen-Z’s attention very well, as long as they have appealing graphics and pictorials.

When it comes to written content, information that is easy to skim stands out. Bullet points, graphics, and infographics are very helpful to consumers.

  1. User-Generated Content (UGC)

UGC is content that comes from individuals, usually on social media, but it can include review sites and any other “word of mouth” type of information found online. An individual will post something about your brand, product, or service, and that information is conveyed to their followers or anyone who sees their page.

When used correctly, this digital marketing method can be inexpensive and relatively easy to maintain. Long-term relationships with influencers seem to do better than “one-off” roles. These relationships seem to be more authentic to end consumers.

  1. Interactive Content

Content is no longer just one-sided. Instead, 2022 (and beyond) will likely see a spike in content that allows the buyer to interact with it. This two-way experience allows buyers to be more engaged in the advertising process.

Examples of this type of content are free instant quotes or quizzes that provide product recommendations tailored to the buyer.

When creativity and digital marketing combine, you end up with a winning combination. Real Top can help you determine the best marketing strategies for your business by using these techniques and more. Contact us to learn more about our digital marketing services!
